Evert Vermeer Stichting

The Evert Vermeer Foundation for International Solidarity (EVF) arose from the Dutch Labour Party and shares its social-democratic ideal of international solidarity and striving for a just world. The EVF was created in 1967 with headquarters in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

 In order to put development cooperation and fair international relations at the top of the political agenda, the EVF advocates within Dutch and European politics, and organises political debates and public events. Some of the main activities of the EVF consist of:

• Striving for Fair Politics through permanent political advocacy (www.fairpolitics.eu) 

• Organizing public meetings between Dutch and European politicians, representatives of civil society, and scientists

• Presenting the annual Africa day - a national public event on Africa and development cooperation

• Providing support to the Dutch Labour Party on issues connected with international cooperation and solidarity

• Organizing symposiums, lectures and public events on international development and cooperation

 The EVF believes that the voice of people in developing countries should resound in Dutch and European politics. That is why the main activities of the foundation take place in the Netherlands and Brussels, aiming to improve the living conditions of people in developing countries.
