The Fondazione Istituto Gramsci has been established in 1982 on the basis of the already existing Institute Gramsci, created in 1950.
The foundation promotes studies and researches on the work and thinking of Antonio Gramsci, on the XX century Italian and international history. It also further studies on the economical, socio-cultural and political aspects of globalisation and on the European integration processes.
The Foundation’s archives are extremely relevant for the study of Italian history in the twentieth-century.
