The Magna Carta Summer School was born in 2006 to contribute to the training of a new leadership of young politicians.

Since 2005, the Interfaith Dialogue and multi-religious meetings took place in Norcia to celebrate Benidict of Nursia, the Saint patron of Europe. This yearly event has been an integral and permanent activity of the Magna Carta Foundation.

Politicians,trade unions, employers and experts participated in a panel discussion on causes and possible solutions of existing demographical problem that Latvia is experiencing.

When Latvia re-gained its Independence in 1991, nobody could imagine that after 20 years of gradual economical rise suddenly large part of the population will face economical pressure to leave the country.

The FSF brought together specialists, scholars and politicians to discuss the demographical situation and growth perspectives for Latvia.

This LYMEC seminar focused on the future of the different forms of International Cooperation in Europe (Council of Europe, OSCE, European Union, Meda Union) and what relations should be established between these organizations in view of the enlargement of the European Union.

The idea of this project was to make employers aware of discrimination at work (due to sex orientation). A conference was an especially important part of the project. Its members shared the most effective methods of preventing discrimination.

“Summer School – Lesson of Democracy” held in Gdansk, Poland in July 2007 was the first event that inaugurated annual se­ries of lectures and workshops addressed to young people from 18-26 years old (in­cluding young political leaders and debu­tants in local government).

The “Ovidiu Şincai” European School is a project of the “Ovidiu Şincai” Institute organized under the aegis of the Council of Europe. It annually recruits 40 young participants selected from a wide spectrum of the Romanian society, including future decision-makers, representatives of parliamentary political parties, judiciary, public administration, journalists, businessmen/women.

The LYMEC seminar on "Re-launching a strategic partnership: EU and African Union" provided an open platform for participants and experts to openly discuss and asses the Euro-Mediterranean partnership. Through work groups and debates, young Liberals in Europe and Africa constructively confronted each other on how to push this partnership forward.

The project “An exotic look on Catalanism” works towards one of the many causes that generate harmful effects from massive immigration, which is the absence of knowledge about such phenomenon. Willing to improve the current situation of misinformation, we have planned a series of debates and conferences with the participation of immigrants and locals. The idea is to impel a process of social dialogue between autochthons, earlier generations of immigrants and newcomers. Through these debates we hope to obtain a series of responses on how the many aspects of the immigration process affect integration, and consequently, by these we hope to improve integration between immigrants and the host society.
