The Jean-Jaurès Foundation
Presentation
The Jean-Jaurès Foundation has been created and is chaired by Pierre Mauroy, former French Prime Minister. It has been awarded the “utilité publique” (public utility) status in 1992.
The Jean-Jaurès Foundation promotes the values of Democratic Socialism. Although being independent both financially and organically from the Socialist Party, the Foundation is close to the Party because of its ideological influence.
The Jean-Jaurès Foundation activities are organised on three departments.
The International Cooperation Department focuses on its democratic engineering activities thanks to its world-wide multiple partnerships with political parties and think tanks. It is also organising and attending seminars and meetings on the globalization framework, both at regional and international levels.
The History and Memory Department assures the conservation, management and valorisation of socialist movement archives. Moreover, it contributes to the constant research on socialism history.
The Studies and Research Department serves as think tank office. Its analysis and proposals covers various levels of issues: international, European and national, ideological and technical, historical and long-term ones. Through its researches this department provides a global and social democratic vision facing the different contemporary challenges.

La Fondation Jean-Jaurès
Presentation

The problem of the MLPC, regrettably, is that of the too numerous political parties in Africa: how make live durably the hope this party carries while the next elections risk to be, once again, manipulated and faked?

It is in this context and at the request of the MLPC that the Jean-Jaurès Foundation organizes since December, 2008 training courses to the local persons in charge of the party, to warn them of all the predictable pitfalls on the eve of the presidential and legislative elections of March, 2010.
