Tancsics Mihaly Foundation was established by the Hungarian Socialist Party in 2003. The main aims of the Foundation are among others the following:
- Widening the information of citizens on political issues.
- Enhancing the acceptance of social democratic values.
- Spreading the knowledge on the politics of Hungarian Socialist Party.
- Promoting the Hungarian and global cultural values, and application of achievements in science and scholarship.
A number of events were organised by Tancsics Foundation. One of the most successful was the debate over „New Hungarian Social Democracy” party programme.
