Caucasian study group visits ENoP

A group of four representatives from the program “Model Caucasus Parliament” (MCP) met ENoP on 8 September during its study visit in Brussels. The study visit was supported by two ENoP member organisations – Dr. Karl Renner Institut (Austria/ S&D) and Olof Palme International Centre (Sweden/ S&D).

The aim of this program is to expose youth from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to the global values of democracy and leadership and to increase their knowledge of and interest in the European tradition of parliamentary democracy, as well as to establish cross-border partnerships and networks among the participants. The 4 representatives came from the Forum for the 21st century Leaders, the Georgian Falcons, the Slavonic University of Armenia and the Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation.

In the focus of the study group’s visit in Brussels was the Eastern Partnership CSO Forum. During the exchange with ENoP the EU aid modalities and concrete experiences with election observation in the Caucasus region was in the focus. It was agreed that there is a need of a sound concept of democracy support by the EU not only in the Southern but also in the Eastern Neighbourhood region.
