Structured Dialogue meeting in Brussels

Six representatives related to Political Foundations in Europe attended the two days meeting of the Structured Dialogue on 30 and 31 March in Brussels. Launched in March 2010 the  "Structured Dialogue  for an efficient partnership in development"  gathers CSOs, EC, Member States and EP to discuss the modalities of EUs external cooperation. In the plenary session Joyce Hakmeh from the Arab Center for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity / Lebanon, a partner organisation of the EC co financed project "Freedom of Association in the Arab world",  reported on the conclusions of the "Democracy and Human Rights Support Initiative".

The name of the 3 working groups are "Roles and added value of CSO´s and LAs in EU external cooperation", "Complementartiy and Coherence within the Aid Effectiveness Agenda" and "Aid Delivery Mechanisms". The topics of the two support initiatives are "Development Education and Awareness Raising DEAR" and "Democracy and Humand Rights". ENoP followed each section during the process and contributed with comments and recommendations. During the closing session in Budapest on 17 - 19 May ENoP plans a side event on the "Need for a paradigm shift in EU democracy promotion" involving representatives from EU institutions and other actors in the field.
